Orphan Ministry - Child's Promise
Child’s Promise is an “Adoption/Orphans” ministry started by the membership of Heritage. The ministry seeks to develop practical and meaningful opportunities for members of HBC to personally and collectively care for orphans. Child’s Promise also provides encouragement, prayer and financial support for HBC families desiring to adopt a child/children.
The Child’s Promise/Orphan’s Fund was originally established through a grant from Shaohannah’s Hope, an adoption support group established by Christian musician Steven Curtis Chapman. According to World Magazine, November, 2008, there are presently “less than 100 churches in the country with their own adoption funds.” Child’s Promise has already financially assisted several Heritage families and missionaries in their adoptions or foster care.
The ministry also provides service opportunities through involvement in the Shoes for Orphan Souls project or providing clothing for orphanages.
