Our Purpose

The music ministries at Heritage Baptist Church exist for two purposes: to glorify God and to edify His people.  These are the vertical and horizontal elements of worship.  We see music as an extension of the creative grace that God has given to mankind and we desire to use this gift as an offering to bring glory to God.  We believe in blended worship to avoid the extremes of all contemporary or all traditional music and therefore employ music from the entire history of the church, creating a worship service that is meaningful, encouraging, and appealing to worshipers of all generations and ages.  It is our firm belief that the music is an extension of the presentation of the Word of God that is preached weekly from the pulpit, and is chosen to support and reaffirm that message.
