Senior Pastor - Roger Parks

Roger Parks is Heritage’s first and only pastor since 1986.  He is a second  generation minister who is passionate about his family, practical Bible teaching, shepherding his flock, missions and young people. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Bible from Tennessee Temple College and attended Temple Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor Parks and his wife, Carol, have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Carol is a talented teacher, musician, writer and speaker. Together they have served in Christian ministry since 1979.

When he’s not at the church, Pastor Parks can usually be found riding his bicycle on one of Autauga County’s back-roads or visiting the homeplace in Tennessee.

On October 31, 2021, Pastor Parks announced his plans for retirement, effective May 31, 2022.  The church is now in the process of seeking a new Senior Pastor.

Assistant Pastor - Donald Payne

Donald Payne serves as the Assistant Pastor at Heritage Baptist.  In June 2019, the church promoted Donald to this position following service as Youth Pastor since 2014.  In the role of Assistant Pastor, his primary ministry responsibility continues to be students and families at HBC, but also includes various other responsibilities within the daily operations and life of the church.

In 2008, he and his wife Katherine (who grew up at HBC) began serving alongside the former Youth Pastor at Heritage learning student ministry, investing in the lives of teens and their families, and proving themselves faithful to the work God has called them to.

Prior to joining the staff at HBC, Donald spent more than 14 years in the business world.  During that time, he served as a deacon, volunteer youth leader, vocalist in the choir and praise team, and with the audio/visual media team.  Donald holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Troy University, and a Masters Degree in Applied Biblical Studies from Moody Bible Institute.

Donald and Katherine have been married for 11 years and have 3 children, Aaron (10), Luke (7) & Sarah (3).  Donald enjoys sports, the outdoors, hunting and fishing, grilling and BBQing.

Minister of Music - Jacob Boatner

Jacob began serving as the Interim Music Minister at Heritage Baptist Church in July 2019.  In January 2020 the church voted to remove the interim tag and call Jacob into the position full time.   Jacob is a graduate of the University of Mobile where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Worship Leadership.   He is also a commissioned officer in the Alabama Army National Guard.

Jacob's responsiblities include leading the congregation in worship through music, directing the choir, and discipling individuals serving in the music ministry.  He is also responsible for various other tasks pertaining to the daily operation of Heritage Baptist Church.  Jacob has a servant’s heart for ministry and loves music.  He enjoys playing guitar, sports, fishing, and shooting sports.

Children's Director - Michele Bradley

Michele joined the staff of Heritage Baptist Church in August of 2014. Prior   to joining our staff she worked as a teacher in a Christian school for twenty- one years. Michele and her husband Robert have been members of Heritage Baptist Church since 1986. They have two adult children, Dana and Dawn, and one granddaughter. Michele has served in several different capacities while attending HBC such as Awana Clubs, children's events, youth retreats, choir, drama, nursery, Wednesday night suppers and many more.

Michele and her husband Robert are both members of CMA (Christian Motorcyclists Association). This ministry allows them to share the Word of God with bikers of all groups as well as be a blessing to children in orphanages. Bike rides are taken as fundraisers to help many different charities. CMA members are often asked to lead in military funeral processions. This is an awesome adventure.

In her spare time, Michele loves spending time with her family and friends, sewing and reading.

Secretary - Lisa Caton

 Lisa Caton has served as the Secretary at HBC since 2000.  She is married to Danny and has one daughter, Mallorie.  Prior to coming to Heritage, Lisa spent close to 7 years working for the Alabama State Baptist Convention as an office administrator.  Lisa is a native of the area and has spent her whole life in our community.

Lisa enjoys listening to music, attending concerts, and reading.  She also likes to spend time gardening and tending her flower bed.
